Florida Genealogy Resources

Florida possesses an abundant historical past, having already been documented from when the English, Spanish and French discoverers first arrived on its beautiful shores. After this very first arrival, Florida has suffered an enormous history of immigration, mainly from Spanish and French immigrants in the year 1500s as well as the migration of new Native American migrants from the South and adding to the pre-existing Native American inhabitants that resided in the Sunshine State as early as 14,000 years ago. Florida finally became a region of the United States in the year 1822 after staying for a long time under colonial domination by Great Britain and Spain and then eventually ended up being America’s 27th state in the year 1845. On recent years, Florida has also dealt with immigration from a variety of Central & South American and the Carribean countries, contributing to its excellent diversity. If you happen to be trying to look for family records from this stunning state, there are a multitude of resources that can be used when investigating for your Florida family history.
