Indiana Genealogy Resources

The Indiana Region was well organized in 1800 as well as the first & only territorial census was carried out in three counties in 1807. In case you have ancestors residing in Indiana just before 1850, they may have resided in the Southern portion of the state, which has been where the majority of the early settlement was. One of the well known Indiana repositories is the remarkable Allen County Public Library, yet don’t allow its name trick you, this library is an important genealogical research center as well as essential for anyone performing genealogical research, not only those with Hoosier forebears.¬†Some of Allen County’s books have been digitized and could be discovered on the resources Internet Archive and the BYU Family History Archives.
